ELK RIVER PIONEERS SNOWMOBILE CLUB

The Elk River Pioneers Snowmobile Club was formed with 48 members in October of 1974 with a current membership of 113.  The purpose of the club is to encourage cooperation and friendship among members, to work toward the development of snowmobile trails and to promote the safe operation of snowmobiles.

To maintain and open trails the club depends in part on the cooperation and generosity of private landowners that allow the trails to pass through their land. Club members volunteer their time and are primarily responsible for grooming all snowmobile trails west of Phillips. They share grooming equipment with the Lugerville Chasers Snowmobile Club. Club members groom and maintain part of the following trails: 80, 82, 83, 85, 86, 88, 90, and 102.

The Elk River Pioneers, the Northwoods Hi-riders, the Lugerville Chasers and the Chaparrals snowmobile club have joined together to establish the Phillips Area Groomer & Maintenance Building in Phillips to have a place to house the groomers and perform routine maintenance on equipment.
